Aligned with the Ministry of Health, CBAHI, and Joint Commission International standards, this charter is reviewed every two years and signed by every clinical leader in the hospital.
Your rights
You have the right to…
- A consultant's name and a clear plan, in writing, for any treatment you receive.
- Care that respects your dignity, privacy, and beliefs.
- Information about diagnosis, options, risks, and costs in your language.
- A second opinion at any point, without prejudice to your current care.
- Refuse a treatment, end-of-life or otherwise, and receive care that aligns with your wishes.
- See your medical record, request corrections, and receive copies on request.
- Make a complaint without fear of any change to the care you are given.
Your responsibilities
We ask that you…
- Share an accurate medical history and current medications.
- Arrive on time and let us know early if you cannot.
- Ask questions if anything is unclear, before treatment begins.
- Treat staff and other patients with the same dignity we extend to you.
- Settle any agreed co-payment or self-pay portion as discussed in advance.
